Andrea Bachmann
Pilates Teacher & Coach
Dance, sports and exercise have always been essential ingredients in Andrea's life. Born and raised in Zurich, various sports have played a significant role, whether judo, snowboarding, tennis, gymnastics or swimming. However, her life-long passion is dance. As a young girl, Andrea trained in Switzerland in ballet, jazz and modern dance, which led to her training at the London Contemporary Dance School and The Ailey School in New York. After that, she worked with a dance company in South Africa. Professional dance training brought Pilates into Andrea's life at an early age, and her passion for this inspired her to become one of the first certified Pilates instructors in Switzerland. She has been certified since 2003 to teach all apparatus, with substantial anatomy, physiology and pathology knowledge. She took advantage of the opportunity to gain experience by applying Pilates in a physiotherapy studio specialising in support and rehabilitation for athletes. Andrea worked in several Pilates studios in the Zurich and Zug areas before opening her studios at the lake of Zurich and in the heart of Zurich.
Andrea is, on the one hand, an experienced pre- and postnatal training specialist, passionate about providing women with safe and effective workouts for this time of life; on the other hand, she's the person for athletes or dancers to train with to finetune their skills with intensive exercise focusing on precision and flow.
Andrea majored in English, German and Contemporary Dance studies at the University of Zurich and the University of Kent. In addition, she completed her teaching degree for upper secondary schools from the University of Zurich and has been working part-time as an English teacher for several years.
She loves spending time with her partner and their three teenagers at the lake, in the mountains or travelling the world.
